My attempt to install EasyBlog v5.0.41 update fails with the following error:

Downloading Installation Files... Failed
We have released a brand new launcher. Please download the new launcher from https://stackideas.com/dashboard[*]

But there's no indication of what to do after downloading the "brand new" launcher. I find it worrisome for any developer to play fast and loose with ambiguous instructions, knowing fully well that even the slightest confusion or misinterpretation could break a site.

I have been worried for some time that Stack Ideas seems to have forgotten its core mission for EasyBlog. Having to deal with an ambiguous, inconsistent update routine only adds to that frustration.

There is no greater threat to an organization than mission creep. EasyBlog, at the end of the end of the day, is merely a blogging component for Joomla! Yes, it can do a number of things that competing blogging components cannot do. But at what cost? At almost 20MB, it might as well be a standalone CMS.

EasyBlog is clearly on the high end of pricing among Joomla! extensions. It is incomprehensible to me that you have no qualms with requiring subscribers to wade through so much extra work just to install an update.
