Easydiscuss Module - Ask A Question not working properly

Hi all,

Using the easydiscuss module across my site (using 2 templates from gavick) and running into a few issues:

1. the module works perfectly ONLY in the section of my site allocated to the EasyDiscuss component eg: http://www.mysite.com/ask/latest

2. the module does not work on any other section of my site e.g.

Home Page (gavick.com news template) - not working
Blog section (gavick.com writer template) - not working

When I click on the ask a question button in these sections a couple of things can happen:

Home page section - the screen refreshes with no change but with this url in the menu bar: http://www.mysite.com/discuss/ask?category=0

or

Blog section - The question input fields appear as one would expect but when I input a question and submit the question does not go through and I end up in what looks like the Easydiscuss section of my site but with the wrong url in the menu bar -http://www.mysite.com/Blogs/categories/questions - this should be http://www.mysite.com/ask/latest, and incorrect modules in the sidebar area.
