At the moment, we have Guru Pro running for our course template; which uses Joomla ACL.
We are able to connect all registered users via this process (images attached).

And, we are using EasyDiscuss (Forum), we like it so that only students who register for our course, can obtain access to EasyDiscuss Forums.

Unfortunately, if they find a backway in via Easydisucss you can create an account.
Which by-passes signing up for a course.

We went back to Global Configurations and created a user group called "registered - forum".
That way, we know if they came in that way..

What we really like is so that the only way to enter the forum is via signing up for a course; whether or free or paid.

We are able to have the ACL within Guru that utilizes Joomla ACL to align mostly with EasyDiscuss so they are able to use based on the role.. Sadly, there is no way at the moment to have it based on course (guru doesn't have that capability at moment)

In the meantime, just can't seem to get the register link (within easydiscuss) to simply take them to the guru course registration page.. And in Easydiscuss, its using the default Joomla user settings...

Hopefully, my images attached make sense...

Also, wondering if this is something PayPlans can help with... now that I think about it?
