I found this ticket useful; as I am implementing the same thing and needed a solution.
Not sure if this was placed on future requests; so I thought I add it just in case.

Also, is there a way in the meantime to place this into our template overrides?
I have one already in there for template/html/com_easyblog/emails/html/post.new.php
I just wasn't certain if I could place post.php into this folder or if there was another way.
