Documentation for doing translations

Hi, i'm looking forward to translate EasyArticles to spanish for a website i'm currently developing (If it works for you afterwards, great).

However, I see there's still no documentation for this product and i'm not sure how to translate it without losing all the work whenever the plugin updates. I imagine that I just have to copy the .ini files and place the language code in the filename but I just wanna make sure that's the way to go.
