Disable event and profile update stream notices

Every time someone updates their profile or makes changes to an event, it ends up in the community stream, which can be very distracting.

Example:

X updated event _________.

Is there some way to turn off both profile and event updates appearing in the community stream? Right now I'm logging in as the admin and deleting them, but it takes a lot of time. : )
