Custom user rejection message

For one of our EasySocial profile types, we require administrator approval after registration.
When rejecting a new application from the back-end (EasySocial Users Pending) we provide a custom rejection message and select the "notify user via email" option.

On the recipient email, the custom message is displayed without any spaces between words and no line breaks.
How do we resolve this so that the message displays correctly in the recipient email?
