So I am not really asking for a new feature to be added - as I may be the only one with this need.
I switched my site BACK over to Easysocial after struggling with it some months back. I really wanted to make it work and it seems like I am a lot closer. Functionally all is good. This is more of a custom or tweak I am looking for.
The notifier box (and the notifier on the blue bar) are not really large enough for my sometimes geriatric users. I used to use UDDEim which provided a pop up notifier as well as larger fixed indicators of messages. I tried playing with the module code to get what I was looking for, but had not a lot of success. I need more coding skills or some tips.
What I would like to see is a simple module that says simply "You have 10 New/Unread Messages"
Obviously the 10 would be how many there were, and the text would a link to the current popup or directly to the in-box (preferably user or admin choosable) If the Text were actually a badge or button that would be even better! And Ideally, it would ONLY appear in the module IF there were actually unread messages.
If anyone has some tips on how to create a custom module to do the above I would be eternally grateful. I am not ready to hire anyone as my site is not commercial and I am cheap
. I would actually like to understand what I need to do to create this, so I can actually help myself moving forward!
