Common use of icons in all Stackidea products

As far as I can tell, the only way to assign an icon to a category is to upload it to the website. I have the same category structure in whole or part for my core joomla website, easyBlog, Komento, easySocial and j-directory. Rather than being forced to upload an icon from my PC to the webserver, it would be great if I could select an icon that was already on the server.
Maybe I am missing something and that can be done already in easyBlog, easySocial, and Komento. If so please let me know.....if not could this function be added in the near future.
