Categories Module - Toggle Layout - Option to auto expand n number of layers

The Toggle layout is able to handle my 100 categories but what would be nice is to be able to auto expand the first levels (n levels). this is because I have all my knowledge base articles under the category KB and then the kb main categories are directly below that but they are hidden under a toggle. I want to keep all of my KB articles siloed/seperate.

this would be a box where you fill in a number and is only available when you use the Toggle menu.
