Cannot Add Responses to User Questions

When I click on the link in the Easydiscuss notification email, it takes me to the add new question page. When I navigate to the user question using the Easydiscuss Categories module, I still cannot add a response when I click on the user's question. Instead it takes me to the add new question page.

I have to click on the forums menu item and then navigate to the user's question where I can add a response.
The replies under this section are restricted to logged in users or users with an active subscription with us
