Can Not Hide Custom Fields

I have created custom fields, and I tried it out on one article, which you can view on the latest items page at Title. I don't like how the custom items fields show on this page. I only want them visible when a person clicks on the article's title or the Continue Reading button, and they are able to view the entire article.

I went to the settings on this particular menu item and selected HIDE on the "Show Custom Fields" menu item. Nothing happened. How do I hide the custom fields like I mentioned, yet see them when the whole article is viewed.
