Can a Points Total Award Different Level of Badges

I am trying to understand how the Badge and Points system works exactly.

I looked and the documentation, forums, demo, and Google, but can only find examples of "Frequency" "Achievement Types" NOT Points.

I am wondering if I can create a badge system similar to TripAdvisor (see image 1).

For example, each action awards a different amount of points:

- New Discussion = 10 points
- New Reply = 5 points
- New Comment = 3 points

The badge system then awards badges according to the total points earned:

- 100 points = Level 1
- 200 points - Level 2

However, I think it is possible that the EasyDiscuss' Badge System and Points System do not work together and are totally separate systems.

Any help to learn about the Points system would be surely appreciated.
