Calendar Functionality (Profile and Groups)

1) Is there a way to control the Calendar (not full screen) in a profile? Image attached. I can't see where I would control it's positioning so it's not so big. I would like to have other side modules at the same time..I thought maybe a hidden menu item but no go there either..thoughts?

2) Is there a way to show Group Events (within the Group) in a calendar format instead of a listing?
