Blog visibility in both Public and Registered areas

We would like to be able to show our Blog in both a Public and a Registered menu area (Joomla ACLs referenced) and wondered if this is possible?

Previously the Blog was just visible to Registered users i.e. once they logged into our site, but we now want to open up the content so it's visible to Public users who don't have an account too.

As the site is subscription-based the menus for Public and Registered area are separate. The problem we're having when we have created the new Public menu item for our Blog is that as soon as you click to view a category or individual blog it reverts you to the version under the Registered menu item alias. The problem with this is that the menu therefore changes from Public to Registered i.e. it physically takes you to the Registered area of the website.

Is there any work around to this so that users stay and view the blog within the area they are actually in whether that be the Public area or the Registered area?

Thanks
Katrina
