Automatic approval for registered accounts

What is the setting that allows for just email activation of new accounts? When users are create an account that are not using social logins, I have to approve the account. I want users to be able to just activate their email for approval instead of waiting for me to approve them before they can login.

Also what is the settings for allowing automatic approval of new pages and groups?
