Archieved Posts. What are they?

Hi Support

I have read this here:

And frankly I still do not understand what an archived post is or how this works.

If I go here I have nothing:

http://finalbug.net/blog/archive

Although I obviously have 100s of posts.

I am guessing that I select old posts and hit an archive button and they turn up on the above page in a list form...

please advise
