Hi Support
I have been having all kinds of adventures with the ES Search functions. Please see this thread here:
http://stackideas.com/forums/2-questions-only-related-to-privacy-setting
As Alex explains in the thread above I can as of now not achieve a search user profiles for specific keywords that they entered in their profile fields. As far as I understand the default either looks in the default “Profile Type name” or in the name of the user. Thus on my final cut user group site entering final, BUG or network will all give 769ish hits as these people all have the profile type “final BUG network. the site is after all called finalBUg.net! Chance of finding some one who entered for example “Final Cut Pro X” in their profile "tools of the trade" section are slim.
Here is another example even more extreme case example than mine. Imagine I had a cat and dogs home and I was peddling stray pets for adoption. Knowing the animals name is not going to be much help. I want to chose cat or dog first. And then maybe I want to enter a race for the cat or dog! etc. Only in the end do I discover that my adorable new pet is called scruffy
In the mean time I would like to offical request a hack to my site ;-) Could someone tell me how to get my search to go to the advanced search as default! i.e. the default ES Search page should be advanced for my site. This would mean that when using Offlajn when I hit enter I get taken to the advance search page. This way I can do a more precise search with ES. Further it is the only search variation that actually supports my current requirements which in all fairness or not that off the wall ;-) Offlajn is amazing but I would not want to search hundreds of profiles with it in its present form.
As of now the advanced search technically does every thing I need.
Offlagn are doing great work and maybe some day these two might components might play ball together.
thanks
Paul
ps something that I find really weird is if I enter “final cut pro” in the search field…
I see this: “Content for War Horses 01”
which takes me here:
http://finalbug.net/component/content/article/49-tutorials/fcpx-tutorials/fcpx-war-horses/185-content-for-war-horses-01
This is an old joomla/k2 article that I had forgotten completely about!
And has to the best of my knowledge nothing to do with Easy anything!
