First I want to wish a happy new year to the Stackideas team and thank you all for the amazing 2014!
Now here are a few ideas/questions/wish list for 2015
1. Easyblog 5 is coming with an amazing editor. Some new "page builders" are around as well but as I'm always trying make my sites work the same way, whatever users are working on (blog, articles...), I'm wondering if a version of your editor could become available for other joomla extensions and be use as "page builder" as well?
2. I'd like to see an Easysocial "working experiences" and "employers" custom fields/applications (kind of what linkedin have) to help make professional profile easier to create. Users can enter company name they worked for, date range they worked for them, position they fulfill, etc.
3. Separate specific elements style in all your extensions themes system. For example, give the possibility to choose the color of links depending of their actions such as; choose color of title links, category links, dates links, "readmore" links, etc. This would make very easy and quick change the style and make all stackideas extensions look the same. (actually it should be done it joomla itself...)
4. Add an option to choose how Easysocial themes are applied to Profile Types.
Right now when applying a theme to a profile type, User within this profile type can see the entire community with it.
Example:
Profile A with the wireframe theme and profile B with Frosty.
When logged in as profile B user, I see everything in "Frosty", even user with Profile A. Vice versa, If logged in a profile A (wireframe), when visiting users with profile B, I see there profile with wireframe theme.
I would like to reverse the way themes are applied to Profile types so:
Example:
If a user has profile A (wireframe), he's profile should always be display with the wireframe theme. And vice versa with profile B users.
We could for example create an amator profile with wireframe and a professional profile with Frosty so members profiles look different when other user visit them... (from same profile or not).
I really need this feature!!
5. Comments synchronization.
I just realize that we can now use Easysocial comment in Easyblog! Unfortunately, no log is created. If user goes to their log page, it doesn't show comment made in easyblog. Is this normal?
Do you plan an integration with joomla articles and other extensions, or maybe a way to synchronize komento with easysocial so komento comments appear in easysocial log or (even better) easysocial comments appear in komento user page so all comment from entire site can be viewed in one place...
6. A custom field to display files (pdf, word...) within "about me" user profile. For example, user could upload their CV and be visible right in their profile.
7. Same as above for a media files. Ex: youtube/vimeo video, image link or from easysocial album or a thumbnail that link to an album...
8. Lastly I'd like to know if you could share with us some information about how "Pages" for easysocial will work? This would help me decide what profile type to create vs Can I do it with pages...
I can't remember the rest of my wish list so I'll stop there. Sorry for the looong post!
