EasySocial 2.2.6

Wanderers Beta Is Now Available For Download

Wanderers Beta Is Now Available For Download

Well, you guys have asked for it!

After few days of releasing it in a public beta testing site, we've decided to share the beta versions with you guys. You can download the beta version of the template via your dashboard. It's available for free to all of our active EasySocial Pro/Unlimited, EasyDiscuss Pro/Unlimited and EasyBlog Pro/Unlimited's license holders.

Unfortunately, it won't be available to any Community licenses. :(

I'd personally suggest for you guys to upgrade your licenses to the Pro versions. Come on guys, aren't you tired of the "Powered by" link? :D

Currently Wanderers is compatible only with Joomla 3 and EasySocial 1.2, meaning that it's not compatible with Joomla 2.x and/or any other versions of EasySocial. The beta testing site is still active, so we'd appreciate it if you guys can submit your bugs to Wanderer's Discussion Page

A reminder : Wanderers is still in a beta phase so we highly do not encourage you to install it on your live site. We will not be responsible for any bugs or other issues that might broke your site. Thou hath been warn!

Will do! Thanks.

I've created a temporary thread/discussion to handle the basic settings, etc:

Just a thought: for those of us who are longtime community subscribers because that's all we need, technically, getting this template may be what GETS us to to upgrade to the pro version. Not the other way around. Currently, the upgrade is $20 for me, but if I can't use or don't like the template once I have tried it, then it doesn't add any value to my subscription. Hopefully that makes sense....;)

Thanks for the heads up on this Steve, will discuss this with our marketing team :)

At this point I think I am resolved to only using built in templates. I have had it fighting with 3rd party templates that always seem to need extra frameworks, special compatibility issues etc.

I seem to recall an earlier blog about how this one is built on a core, Joomla template or uses the same libraries or something to that effect. If that is true and it won't behave or require anything different than Protostar for example, I may give 3rd party another shot. However, it would take...

I seem to recall an earlier blog about how this one is built on a core, Joomla template or uses the same libraries or something to that effect. If that is true and it won't behave or require anything different than Protostar for example, I may give 3rd party another shot. However, it would take testing that as a community subscriber I can't currently do, hence my post.

No guarantees that I or anyone else would upgrade even WITH the template. The deciding factor for me is whether I like it and it works the way I like it to. That was not possible with the test/demo site either for multiple reasons.

Thanks for the consideration!

This is fantastic news! Thanks a lot! Any chance of an installer that can automatically populate menus and modules the way it is on the demo site? ^^

  1. Mark

We haven't really thought about that yet but we do see a possibility on that area but we'll first try to come up with some proper documentation on the wanderers demo page so that it will contain a guide that will help you setup your site to look like the Wanderers demo :)

  1. Jannik L.    Mark

Yeah, my first impression is the names for the module positions are a bit weird. But I am getting a hang of it.

  1. Richard

I can't see it on my dashboard for download?

  1. Mark    Richard

Hm, as long as you have an active license, you will be able to download it when you access http://stackideas.com/dashboard

Can you please write to us at https://crm.stackideas.com if you are still having issues accessing the download?

  1. Kane

I can't seem to find a demo, do you have one available? Is it what the StackIdeas site runs on?

  1. Mark    Kane

It's actually available at http://wanderers.stackideas.com :)

  1. Réseau Vendée Pôle

Yeah !!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D

Many thanks, install in progress ;)

Best news ! Thank you very much ! :D

Has anyone gotten the custom.css to work for overrides? I can't seem to get it to work, but I have so many layers of compression and a CDN, so it could be my setup.

  1. Justin    Jannik L.

Update line 25 of the index.php file to read:
-----------------------------------
<link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="/<?php echo TEMPLATE_URI;?>/css/custom.css" />
-----------------------------------
I'll add it as a bug in the Wanderers demo...

Really useful template!

Thank you guys but i can't find the download link.

Any CometChat users here? If so, can you guys check if you can have a conversation with someone during "Responsive" mode?

The moment I resize down to responsive mid chat, the whole site stops responding due to some JS conflict.

Love the ES layout ! Any chance this layout will be released also as a theme for ES on other templates ? or will it only be like this on the wanderers template ? please please add this as a theme for 1.3 ?? ;)

  1. Mark    lindyhopper

Hello Peter,

Unfortunately the layout needs to be done on the Joomla template layer instead of the component itself. The component only generates an area within your website while the wanderers template simply overrides EasySocial in order for it to achieve a multiple column layout :)

  1. lindyhopper    Mark

Ah i see. And is il possible to have all the override files ?

  1. Andy

Congrats! I hope that adding the Joomla 2.x compatibility won't bloat things. I'd say not to bother..... come on Joomla 2.x users.... get yourselves on to Joomla 3 and let StackIdeas code for current and future technology :)

  1. Mark    Andy

It's not difficult but it's tedious definitely because Joomla 2.5 does not have Bootstrap and some of the component overrides might fail because they are rendering Bootstrap from Joomla 3 :p

Hi Mark,
Can i have wanderers template as a theme for es, eb, ed
similar to themes
wireframe, frosty... in ES
simplistic pinter, timeless.. in ED
bluedream, bubbles, carbon.. in EB

basically i dont want to change my site template, i just want the ES, ED, kommento themes like in wanderers

regards

  1. Mark

Hello Sunny,

Unfortunately it's actually not possible currently but our next plan is to standardize our templates so that it blends in across all our extensions :)

  1. Eugen Salnikov

hey, great Stuff! What about Logo Position? does it posible to make only for a Logo a stand alone position? =)

  1. Mark

Hello Eugen,

Sorry but not really sure if I understand you here but these are the available module positions for the template, http://wanderers.stackideas.com/documentation/module-positions

  1. Eugen Salnikov    Mark

Yes I've read about it, but I mean, why can not you add in addition to the position-top another position, which may instead involve the "Wanderers" text, a logo (picture).

Download Wanderers Template (BETA)

Joomla 2.x (Next Release)

Does this mean none Beta? Any ideas when :)

  1. Justin

Any coupon codes like STACKWANDERERS25 on the horizon? It's go time for me to buy EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss :)

  1. Mark

I am really sorry but we do not have any running promotions currently :(

  1. Justin

No worries Mark. If I get the ES/ED Starter bundle, would that include the EasyBlog 5 15 month subscription?

Comment was last edited about 4 years ago by Justin Justin
  1. Mark

Yep, that's correct :)

  1. Justin

Done! I'm now a proud subscriber to ES/EB & ED!

  1. Mark

Thanks for your continuous support Justin!

  1. Anastasia

I unstalled Wonderers and set it for EasySocial only. And when I go to /community I see modules one under another, only one column.

and this is normal view with my template - http://gyazo.com/df81161d2c93a5b6e84a806c207c58d8

Anastasia,

The template is not compatible with Joomla 2.5 yet :) We'll be releasing the stable release shortly which will also support Joomla 2.5 as well.
