EasySocial 2.1 Progress Updates Part 2
Hi guys, this is a continuation from where we left off previously with regards to EasySocial 2.1 progress updates. Just in case you have not read the first part, you can check them out here. As I didn't have the opportunity to present everything on the previous post, here are some of the other cool features that I thought are worth mentioning too.
Conditional Custom Fields
With EasySocial 2.1, you can now chain custom fields to appear based on users input on specific fields. This is a tough nut to crack, but it is definitely worth spending most of our time on. It opens up tons of opportunity and would allow EasySocial to be even more extensible!
We believe that with conditional custom fields, EasySocial 2.1 would take custom fields manipulation to a whole new level.
Twitch Videos Support
Video support was first introduced in EasySocial 1.4 and it has been a real hit since. There are actually a number of gaming sites out there that utilizes EasySocial. Because of this, we have decided to add Twitch videos embed support in EasySocial 2.1.
Yup, it works the same as how you would add a link or upload a video in EasySocial 1.4 previously. Apart from this new addition, there are other reputable video providers such as Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion and many more already being supported in EasySocial. This means that users now have a broader range of video sources to choose from.
Verified Badge
I was not able to fit this into my previous post but here you go :) Verified badge helps users to easily identify and filter public figures, celebrities, brands, official organizations and what not on your social site. In fact, users could request the verification badge from their site moderators' and await for their approval.
When a user is verified, their display names would have the verified icon which makes it easier for other users to identify them throughout the site.
Sexy Text Based Avatars
We know that at times, a new site may not always contain active users but with the stock photos appearing everywhere, it makes the site looks dull. We initially had this with EasyDiscuss and we have now brought the same functionality into EasySocial 2.1
Greater Anti-Spam Tools
Clean Talk isn't a free service but it's definitely worth it. It has it's own IP address tracking algorithm from their huge list of known spammers database and with their intelligent services, I am pretty sure your spam sign ups would be greatly reduced! On top of curbing spam registrations, the CleanTalk app for EasySocial 2.1 allows moderators to control post frequency for their site users.
As EasySocial 2.1 is extremely extensible and because not everyone needs it, this app will be offered through our apps store when it is ready for FREE!
Moderation Goodies
It has always been our goal to move the operation of all our extensions on the front end as the products matured. At the same time, we have been getting many requests for front-end moderation of cluster items (pending groups, events and pages).
With EasySocial 2.1, you no longer need to login to the back end to manage these clusters which were sent for moderation, as all these can be done directly from the front end. As an admin, not only can you do it from the front end, you can now assign these privileges to certain profile types on the site, in return to help you manage these pending items too! Double win!
ConverseKit Integrations
To take conversations a step further, the team decided to have ConverseKit linked directly to EasySocial 2.1. That way, conversations would be simplified and hassle free. Furthermore, every conversation bubble will now be editable as well.
