EasySocial 2.1.9 Update

EasySocial 2.1.9 Update

Before this week ends, we have scheduled a maintenance release for EasySocial. EasySocial 2.1.9 addresses two important fixes which are start date appendment to event title for repeating events and PHP 7.2 compatibility. The rest were mostly bug fixes, refinements and other improvements.

Below are just some fixes applied:

  • Top level domain aka TLD supported
  • Hashtag textarea on stream
  • Event subcategory creation
  • Facebook auto login
  • Group creation
  • Mobile view
  • Link sharing on stream

Do refer to the complete list of changes or fixes at our changelog page with the button below.

Upgrading from EasySocial 2.1.x

Updating to EasySocial 2.1.9 is relatively simple. All you have to do is hit the update button from the back-end or run a fresh installation with the 2.1.9 installer found on your dashboard, and you are good to go. Should you face any difficulty during the upgrade process, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our support team.

Prices stated above are already discounted, so no coupon code is required. Many cool things are happening behind the scene, so stay tuned. ;)

thanks for the updates

No problem :)

Great, thank you!

Thanks just in time for me ;)

No problem :)

Could you elaborate on "Top level domain aka TLD supported"?

This feature allows admin to specify which top level domain is valid/supported when sharing links in EasySocial http://take.ms/0berF :)

Thank you for the screenshot and the info. However, I'm still a little confused. Why?

I mean spam links could easily come from a .com too! What am I missing?

Hi Elaine - I think this is given to us for flexibility. At the outset when you typed a .com into the story post EasySocial would recognise it as a link and convert it... then someone said "Hey why not include .weird" and someone else said "why not include ".wacky" - initially the StackIdeas heroes were added them by request... then I think they realised the requests would never end.. so now we have the feature to add whatever domains we want for our own purposes.

That explains it. Thank you :)

I used to use EasySocial but don't have any use at the moment. It's great to see progress though. I'm waiting excitedly for EasyBlog stable release:)

Thanks for the update. Now waiting for the charm one )

Thanks Robert. Yup, we are working on it. :)

Great update.

is it possible now to have customised fields language translations ( or with Falang support) that is also searchable with different languages if you customise your ES search module to include those customised fields and that they are language aware? Cheers!

Hey ssnobben,

Unfortunately, this is currently not possible. Perhaps you can drop your idea at our feature request at https://stackideas.com/forums/easysocial/feature-requests-2 :)
