Discontinuation Of All Community or Starter Plans

Discontinuation Of All Community or Starter Plans

We have officially discontinued all Community or Starter plans from this day onwards.

The reason being we are currently simplifying and restructuring the pricing plans across all products for the convenience of our users.

What happens if I own a Community subscription?

Our community plan still remains and you may use it as it is; you can still renew your Community or Starter subscription as per usual. However, we would like encourage every user to upgrade their existing Community or Starter plan to Professional plan as there will be certain restrictions in the near future.

To make this transition as pain-free as possible, we are now offering users with existing Community or Starter subscriptions a chance to upgrade to Professional plan with a one-time only huge rebate. For as little as $10, you can now upgrade to EasyDiscuss and EasyBlog Professional plan, and $25 for upgrading to EasySocial Professional plan.

What if I'm interested upgrading to Developer plan?

For those who are interested in upgrading to Developer plan, we are also offering a 25% discount for Upgrades to Developer plan. You may use this coupon code: UPGRADE25 to enjoy this one-time only offering.

Note:

  • All of our offerings valid till May 12th, 2016
  • Upgrading plans will not extend your existing support licenses
  • This offer is not applicable for EasySocial 1-year subscription plan

"we are currently simplifying and restructuring the pricing plans across all products for the convenience of our users"

You must be kidding... For Starter/Community plan customers having now to pay for Pro plans, it makes:
- EasySocial: +50% ($99 to 149$)
- EasyBlog : +34% ($59 to $79)

For small sites customers, who were OK with having a link back to StackIdeas, having a lower plan price as a compensation, this is really bad news!

Thanks for your concern on this Altitudes and I greatly appreciate this. However, do take note of the following:

1. Anyone that is still on the Community / Starter plan can still renew at this price. We do not "enforce" you to upgrade.

2. Almost 90% of our customers chose the Pro plan

3. There has been too much of support abuse from users with "Community" license and we need to be realistic about this. We have to hire additional support team members just to cope with the support.

Thanks...

Thank you for this information. I am glad to hear 90% of your customers have the Pro plan, which shows the quality of your products. As a representative of the remaining 10%, I must say this sentence in the article is a bit disquieting: "[for] existing Community or Starter plan [...] there will be certain restrictions in the near future".

It really is something that we cannot "define" right now. For instance, the Pro / Developer plans has more themes than the community / starter version

I would not go back to Community Builder if you payed me and the last time I checked they still had a free version!

I have always used the Professional versions of EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss. I am happy with the support.

I currently use Komento Developer and don't know if this upgrade is of any benefit there. I am assuming not.

Also, I am using EasySocial Advanced which was an early adopter plan. What I wonder now is if that plan is also going away and also whether I should be upgrading now regardless.

Ideas?

Thanks, Sean Carney

Hey Sean,

EasySocial Advanced is for early adopters and we still honor this plan Everything will remain as is.

...that time when you rush to your dashboard to see if you have to upgrade...and realize that you already are subscribed to all the Pro version... #stackideafanboyclub.

Like Sean, I'm also on the ES Advanced as an early adopter plan. Is this staying?

Thanks!

B.

Thank you for your continuous support Benoit! Words like these are priceless and it makes us keep wanting to contribute more

As for the EasySocial Advanced plan, as long as you do not cancel the subscription and do not have billing issues with it, the plan will remain as is. EasySocial Advanced is for early adopters of EasySocial and we will definitely honor this plan

Thank you again!

I've been here for more than a few years now. My opinion hasn't changed- Stackideas has always produced and provided quality products; and tech support that rocks! Worth every penny and then some!

As stackideas discontinued all Community or Starter plans

I would be very kind gesture from stackideas if they launch separate social bundle that include only easysocial ( users freely choose between wanderers and elgant theme ) and easydiscuss exclude Easysocial

As you know, I love your products and you have great quality in your products as well as in your support.
However, there are two really bad things that I´d wish you will solve as soon as possible.

You are changing your pricing (again). Your prices seem so unstable, always some coupons out, and then you have stuff like your developers plan: All products for 12 months EXZEPT EasySocial, which is only 6 months. You are having different time-periods for the products in THE SAME PACKAGE? This really feels unbelievable inconstistent.
Please find a straight priceline! When I need to extend, I am always searching for coupons because I don´t want to buy a product and get a 50%-offer the week after I bought it.

2nd the voices
You direct all feature-requests to the voices-section. And then ... nothing happens. In 2,5 (EasySocial) years you collected 121 Ideas. One of them is accepted, 20 are rejected, none is in progress and 8 are completed. This is a really, really, really bad statistic. I am totally demotivated by your votes-section because nothing is happening there.

Stop the pricing-lottery and start to listen to the voices, feel free to raise the price, your products are worth it.

All the best, Julian!

Hey Julian,

First off, thank you for your feedback! Greatly appreciated!

1. Just so you know, we have been constantly reviewing our price because we are trying to make our products to be affordable to users who can't afford but it backfired us because of people abusing our support. Heck, we have a customer who has a community subscription and has close to 200 posts in just 3 months. This is why we have decided to remove the Community plan.

2. The reason that EasySocial is priced at 6 months instead of 12 months is simply because of clause #1 again, we are trying to make our products to be more affordable to all users. Not everyone could afford $289 at one go.

3. We have been constantly updating the voices and we have also picked up quite a number of feature requests. Try to filter it by 2.0 and "accepted".

Just because only 1 out of 20 is picked from your pool of your ideas does not mean that we are not listening. Everyone has different ideas and we are picking on what is best.

Hi Mark,

The reason that EasySocial is priced at 6 months instead of 12 months is simply because of clause #1 again, we are trying to make our products to be more affordable to all users. Not everyone could afford $289 at one go.

I am talking about the developer-package. It contains four products, three of them have a 12-month-subscription and one has a 6-month-subscription.

Discontinue all community- and 6-month-plans. They make no sense.
Instead you could offer a "one-time-download" so Users can download the product ONCE without any community-support.
This way, you can make the prouduct much cheaper and users can decide when they want to have a new update by paying for the download again. This should not be a general solution. It should just be a solution for users who can´t afford it.

And keep in mind: Ferrari has no "low-price-car". EasySocial is not a "low-price-community". If somebody has no money, he can use Community-Builder. By cutting the price you are cutting your income as well as your ressources for developement. This is not fair for the users, that want to pay more and have more features.

You are doing a great job. If somebody can´t afford it, it´s not your problem. It´s his!
It is always nice to support others. But it´s not a good choice to limit yourself only to support others. There is a free Community-solution out for Joomla (CB), so it´s not your job to support users who can´t afford ES.

All the best, Julian!

Hi Mark,

just for you to know: The point I am struggeling again and again is the pricing. I am definitely a fan of rising the price and using the ressources for more features. I would love if you could get a new guy for layout to get a total new template, I would love to have many other features. I would love to see way more activity on your Voices-Section.

So what´s the problem? One of my most important values is transparency and fair pricing. I would pay much more ... but I really have a problem when I buy something and a week later I see a 50% coupon. For me this feels like cheating.

For my opinion you have way to much coupons out there. Whatever happens, you teake nearly every impulse to offer a coupon. It´s terrible: I am afraid of buying something on StackIdeas without a coupon. I would prefer much more, if you had a straight priceline without any coupons. This would make me feel safe whenever I buy something.

Last year you had the Package together with Joomlart and the other company. It was your whole developer-package. I bought it for a really cheap price (much cheaper then it "should" be), but inside of the package the ES-membership is limited to 6 months, while the other memberships (EB, ED, Komento) are 12 months. This feels weired: The price is too low while the package itself feels like cheating becauseo of this missing 6 months.

There are many options that can work, if they would be clear, straight and not varied on every new coupon. This would also lead into me paying much more for EasySocial.

All the best, Julian!

I once went to a course for people wanting to start up a business
There was a dentist in there and she wanted to borrow 200,000€
And there was a truck driver who wanted to borrow 20,000€
Simple common sense would dictate that the dentist will make more money in the long run…

But seriously anything could happen.

The dentist could get run over by a truck.
Or the truck driver could fall victim to incredibly expensive root canal surgery!

I could probably have a basic site including free open source software & server up and running for 100$ a year.
Instead I add a zero to that and give half the money to SI.
And they deserve every cent of it what with difficult customers like me

Will this pay off for me I have not got a clue.
But I am going to give it every thing I have got and I know that SI will as well.
I will tell you if it was worth it in 10 years time assuming that I am around to tell the tale!

The joke about the Dentist and the truck driver is this…
They will both have the same sleepless nights wondering about ALL that money they have to pay back!!!
This much they do have in common.
