Status Category for Organizing Posts

It would be really cool if when posting profile statuses a user could select a category for their post to appear in. I've often heard the complaint on Facebook that there is no real sorting for statuses other than #hashtags which are loosely defined. But if statuses could be sorted by categories created by the administrator, it would allow the user to find more relevant posts in the activity feed. So if I want to find out what my friends have been up to I would set the feed display to "personal". If I wanted some recent humor I would change it to humor. This would open up many possibilities for allowing people to see what they want to see.

I attached a screen shot of where it could potentially be implemented in (I used FireBug to create it). If this was implemented it could further be enhanced to allow users to view only activity or only status posts as well (using the same sort box or menu options). And of course the default is "All" for the activity feed.
