Social Share Issues

Currently when "social sharing" a group, event, stream item, etc the social stream is sent my websites Meta Data, often times a picture of my users profile avatar and not much else. In most cases with my site the user is re-direct to the homepage vs the group, event, stream, etc...

In short I am lost.
