Layout/Ordering for Categories and Tags

Dear Tech Team,

I am having some trouble getting Categories and Tags to display in the proper ascending order and with a consistent count of posts for Categories -

1) Category tree in sidebar and in dropdown for search box have sub-categories listed in descending order despite setup in Settings/Layout/Categories (see attached);
2) Sum of posts for parent category (i.e. Forums) as a container is shown correctly in Class Category on top of the page but has 0 in the sidebar (see attached); and
3) Similar problem with ordering for Tags (see attached).

FYI, categories and tags were all added in ascending alphabetical order if it makes a difference.

Could you please help?
