Groups attempt to show events even though that is turned off

My groups now display " APP_EVENTS_GROUP_TITLE" in the applications list. If I click that the page displayed shows "APP_GROUP_EVENTS_TITLE" and (highlited in blue) "APP_GROUP_EVENT_NEW_EVENTS"

I recall something being said about group events being added recently? Anyway I checked on the backend and found the setting under Settings->Events called Group Events, but this is set to OFF
