EasyBlog 5.4.9 Released


We have just released an update for EasyBlog to address some of the issues encountered from the previous release.

In this release, apart from addressing some of the issues in the previous releases, we have also added some new functionality in EasyBlog:


  • 🆕 Added new settings to allow admins to filter related posts within specific days for newness
  • 🆕 You can now define a custom canonical link for the front page layout menu item
  • 🆕 Added new settings to define the total number of rss feeds to process during the cron process
  • 🆕 Added opengraph data on category listings
  • Fixed issue with toolbar not rendering correctly on mobile devices for non EasyBlog pages
  • Meta description for categories will now use the category description
  • Publishing date of blog post will now use the date set by the author instead
  • Embedded Facebook blocks are now responsive
  • Imported posts via RSS Feeds will now respect the auto post settings
  • Fixed issue with editing blog post permissions
  • Scheduled posts are no longer auto posting to social sites multiple times
  • 2Factor settings will now save correctly when user edits their profile
  • Fixed issues with SH404 generated urls where the "entry" keyword is missing from the urls
  • Fixed issues with SH404 generated urls containing duplicate view names
  • Fixed javascript errors preventing guests to post comments when multiple menu items from the toolbar are disabled
  • Fixed issue with adding EasyBlog modules in SP Page Builder
  • Composer will now use the default category if an invalid category id is provided via the query string
  • EasyBlog will now respect the module settings to render module title
  • Fixed file block to render an accurate progress indicator
  • Added new redirection message if user is required to login to view a post
  • Multi-lingual posts will now use the appropriate menu id depending on the language
  • Fixed issue with category links not using the appropriate menu item based on the site's language
  • Fixed issue with toggling multiple categories support causing javascript errors
  • Fixed issue with 3rd party plugins messing up with the schema values
  • Preparation for compatibility with EasySocial 4
  • Added missing option to toggle visibility of date in the magazine layout
  • EasyBlog will now generate a proper error message when the author tries to upload an invalid image or if the image exceeds the limit
  • Addressed styling issues with Facebook buttons overlapped by other social buttons because of translations
  • Fixed issue with pagebreak block not working correctly
  • Fixed issues with javascript errors on edit profile page when author does not have privilege to edit custom css codes
  • Category module will now respect the limit defined in the module settings
  • Fixed issue with publish date not tallying between the back-end post listings and the composer
  • Autofill for keywords will now display a message if there aren't any suggestions
  • Remove use of short array syntax as EasyBlog 5.4 still supports PHP 5.3
  • Addressed issues with JCH Optimize when lazy loading is enabled in JCH Optimize
  • Fixed issue with comment's url not linking correctly
  • Fixed issue with file uploads in media manager when filename contains exceptionally long unicode characters
  • File block will now display file size even when file is uploaded to Amazon S3

Updating to EasyBlog 5.4.9 

Updating EasyBlog is a pretty straight-forward procedure. You can update EasyBlog using the single click updater in Joomla or the back end of EasyBlog. Alternatively, you can also download the latest version from your dashboard and install it just like how you normally install any extension.
