Phew, what a hectic month! The team and I have been working tirelessly to get as much updates out there as we can and we are happy to announce the availability of EasySocial 2.2.1, this update emphasizes mainly on the rollout of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on May 25th, 2018.
GDPR Compliance
EasySocial handles lots of personal data, which also mean site administrators that are hosting social sites for any European users will be held accountable for handling these personal data, therefore it is only obvious to go in accordance with EU's law to avoid any complications. Identical to what we have done for EasyBlog 5.2, users will have the freedom to download their account data in a zip archive from EasySocial 2.2 onwards.
Apart from downloading, EasySocial already allows users to delete their account from the site should they want to. Here are some of the data that can be removed and downloaded by users:

Brand New Toolbar
When we updated the toolbar in EasyBlog 5.2, many users are very happy with the changes that we have added into the toolbar. Therefore, we decided to keep the toolbar to look more uniform across all our extensions. For those who prefer the previous toolbar, fret not as the previous toolbar can still used by switching over to the Breeze theme.
Invisible RecaptchaEnter heading here...
We have also updated the recaptcha field in EasySocial to ensure that it is up to date and supports invisible recaptcha as well. With the invisible recaptcha field, users would no longer need to tick the checkbox any longer to verify that they are a human.
Verified Profiles
You may now configure profile types on the site to set users as verified by default. When a user registers under the selected profile type, their account would be marked as verified by default.Digest E-mails for Groups
With the introduction of EasySocial 2.2, we have also added e-mail digest for groups. Group members would be able to subscribe to a digest system in which they would be able to receive updates from the group on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Due to the time constraints for the GDPR timeline, we are unable to roll this out on Pages and Events but we are looking at this in the next release.

It is now possible to sort items by Oldest first or Latest first for discussion replies. Apart from that, there is a new discussion widget that can be enabled and it will appear on the sidebar of your groups, pages and events.
