Hello everybody !

Do you also would like to have an application to integrate EasyDiscuss into EasySocial Pages ?
On the same model as the applications to integrate EasyBlog in the Pages.

If so, do not hesitate to leave a message here

Thank you.
Philippe
Hi Philipe! You are psychic! I was JUST emailing with Mark about whether ConverseKit was usable as an alternative to EasyDiscuss because I was wanting a tighter integration between the ES and ED functionality.

What do you have in mind? While I love, Love, LOVE all the flexibility of the Stack Ideas tool set, I'm often finding the the Users tend to get a little spun around when trying to figure out what goes where.

Hi Griffin !

A few months ago they released an application to integrate EasyBlog into Pages, and I was very disappointed that it did not propose anything for EasyDiscuss...

I therefore expressed my disappointment, and Mark informed me that if there were enough interested, they would consider the development of Pages EasyDiscuss App.
To my knowledge, we are 3 currently.
Other people would probably be interested, but it is difficult to survey.

Concerning Conversekit, I consider this tool is totally complementary to EasyDiscuss.
Conversekit is a place for private discussion, EasyDiscuss is a place for public exchange.

So Griffin, do you also be interested in this new application ?

Thank you
Philippe

I am absolutely interested in helping to fund ANYTHING that brings the Stack Ideas ecosystem into a more refined and seamless experience. It is the absolute best community toolset on the market (I hosted over 250,000 users on JomSocial in the past and I hope to be with EasySocial well beyond that.)

However I have found many of my users complain that it is sometimes difficult to move around a site between functions like blogging and discussions without losing their place. Of course much of this is because we have a variety of locations for each of these functions but I imagine that the integration you propose would make things much more seamless.

Seemingly little things like URL consistency across apps like EB, ED and ES groups would go a long way also. Mark's Docker (and the very similar functionality in Ricky of CMS.Bold's templates goes a long way towards making things more intuitive but anything that can be done to simplify and make uniform the UX and interaction design patterns at the CMS are welcome and, in my opinion, worth funding.

I believe Randall McCallum proposed in another thread the idea of crowdsourcing in advance components and apps. It seems to me that StackIdeas is doing a GREAT job of building out their App presence and the variety of what is now featured and available seems to me to be a very valuable addition to the ecosystem.

One thing which might make it even more cutting edge and responsive to the needs of users would be to allow people to prepay or crowdsource software in advance. Payments could be released when apps are released. I believe most software will go this way eventually, thanks to the Blockchain and crypotcurrency backed smart contracts. Maybe Mark and the team would be enthusiastic about this type of enhancement to the App marketplace.

Meanwhile, put me down as a YES.

Thank you Griffin !

Concerning the ulrs, I'm totally agree with you, this could be improved on this point. There is a lack of coherence.
I had just posted a subject about this :
Better URLS for EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss in EasySocial Groups

There is another discussion that should interest you :
Group 'buying' or 'pushing' new things in ES

Philippe,

Email me and let's see if we can fast track a budget for the improvements. I'm confident there is a market for it but understand how busy the guys are.

I bet we can organize the support tho. It obvious that Stack Ideas makes the right decisions eventually; it's just such a wide spectrum of functionality that big changes and improvement take an extra push.

Hit me up

Why going into another dependency? I would suggest making a proper discuss plugin instead. I think it makes more sense to have it the way the stream anywhere module works.

The plugin should work like having a part of ED inside a module. Like selecting a single thread or a category. When a category is selected, it should be possible to create threads inside the module and shows the recent x threads which opens accordion like on mouseclick. If no thread is open, there should be a create thread button, if accordion extended for a thread, answer appears.
If a thread is selected, answering only appears. Of course this should sync completely with the forum itself.

If you got such a module, you can place it anywhere not just limited to pages. I am not sure yet but depending on the costs I might be interested that way.

Sabih,

I like the flexibility of a module/plug in that could appear anywhere.

I don't use ED for Questions and answers but more discussion/forums, but I could see how a plug in like you mention would make the FAQ function more appealing because you could embed a FAQ on a specific site feature right on the page where that feature was. That would be very cool.

I'm sure Philippe has more to say.

Yep, me too. I never knew what to do with a q/a component.

I didn't see any reviews of the Stream Anywhere module.

https://stackideas.com/apps/item/3360-stream-anywhere-module

What sort of situations is this useful for you?

Replace any comment system with that i.e. If you post into that module, the post will be shown on the page the post was made and inside the main stream. Inside your main stream your post will have a link back to the page the post was made at so others can see to which page the post relates. If people comment your post on the main stream, it will appear on the page as well. But inside the stream on the page only posts appear that were made at that page, except of comments.

Highly intesting the moment you want to connect your content with your community.

Wow, that DOES sound interesting, Sabih. Thanks for the insight.

What other apps or add ons are in your top 10 for ES communities? Are you using the Easy Discuss Group App, even though we would like to see it as an E.D. Plugin/module? How about any S.I. E.S. gamification or completion modules? I'm amazed how the E.S. App Store is growing. Hope to contribute more momentum to that trend soon!

Feel free to email if this is off topic at all.

I am not sure about what you mean by gamification. I have an idea but I am not sure about the possibility to realize it. I would like to have points to be something like shares. Each month I would like to share xx% of the site's income with the members depending on their points.

Let's say your site had an income of about 500$ last month. Now you put inside the component the percentage of 90%, so we are going to share 450$ to the members of the site. Now the component automates the process of sharing the amount related to the points of each member. Let's say all member together have 100 points at this point. Now 1 point is worth 4,50$ for real! Now the users can decide if they want the cash or save their points for the next month. If they select cash, an automated process sends them the money through paypal, moderated would be necessary for making sure there is no hack and your paypal account is cleared.

Funny thing as a owner of the site: Your users will want to gain more points because more points are more cash and content for your site. On the same way they have to spread the site to generate more visitors so each point will be worth more, because visitors are income for the site. On the other hand they have to generate new content because if only one member generates content and earns lots of points, the points of the others will lose worth.
Your site will be a self-running money machine... hopefully. xD

Is that what you mean by gamification? If so, let's go for it!

Weird, not finding anything from any sender containing "Philippe" in inbox or junkmail.

Can you share the domain name here?
