Hi,
two question from a new user
1.) I have a category based front page and can not find how to integrate a read more button after the introtext.
The site should only have this view to make naviagtion more simple.
2.) I it possible to navigate by categories over the navigation tabs on the top of the blog?
Thank you

Hello Antje,
I'm sorry for the confusion, I thought you was referring to Easyblog's default frontpage.
I've modified this file: \components\com_easyblog\themes\default\blog.categories.item.php added the "read more" link and removed author and comments.
You can see I wrapped <!-- syntax --> around elements to hide it from display.Antje Herbig likes this post.

Hello Antje,
I am sorry for the delay of this reply due to the differences in our time zone. Kindly please find the answers to your inquiries below,
1.) I have a category based front page and can not find how to integrate a read more button after the introtext. The site should only have this view to make naviagtion more simple.
Have you configured the truncation at the back end settings of EasyBlog yet? If you've configured the truncation, EasyBlog will actually truncate the contents and append a read more link on the blog posts.
2.) I it possible to navigate by categories over the navigation tabs on the top of the blog?
Sorry but I don't really get you on this. Would you mind posting a screen shot over?If you need help, do visit our documentations below,

Hi Mark,
thanks a lot for your fast answer. That is really a good service.
I have configured the truncation (see truncate.jpg). I miss the read more button in my frontpage view. I made a screenshot of my front page where I miss the read more button and also symbolize the navigation tabs for categories.
Sorry if I do not explained it that well.
I have no problem to provide you also the access credentials of my site (at the moment we are in the preproduction phase) if this makes it easier for you. Just let me know
Regards from cold Germany

Hello Antje,
Ah, it looks like there's a bug in the categories theme file. This is actually fixed in EasyBlog 3.5
By the way, I am not too sure if it's possible to actually use tabs to navigate between categories

Hi Mark,
it´s me again
. I made an update to the new Easy Blog version and the read more buttons dissapeared again.
Also I decided to change the theme to nomad, but this caused the following questions:
1.) How can we display off that line (No. 1, plase refer to the pdf or Word file)?
I do not want to show author and comments in the forum.
Can you show me the lines of code? Than I can repair it next time on my own
. Is there any kind of code description available? I could find aything.
2.) How can I display off that (No. 2) line? We do not want to show the tags?
Can you show me the code where I can do that
3.) The read more buttons are vanished after I fullfil the update to the new Easy Blog version. How can I reactivate the read more buttons?
4.) Is there any chance to have a frontpage view only with a list of our two categories and if people click on the category they get only articles from that category?
thanks from Germany -
Hi Antje, I'm sorry I didn't get any attachment from your previous reply. Any I'll assume it's on your latest blog page as shown in my attached screenshot.
No. 1 to No. 2 customization can be done in this file: \components\com_easyblog\themes\nomad\blog.item.php
1. Should be around line 127 to 130 for author's name and link. And line 138 to 144 for total comments.
2. Line 214 to 220 for tag list.
3. The read more buttons isn't on the lower right box?
4. Yes, you can make it an menu item and there's a parameter there to select which categories to list. -
Hi Terence,
thanks for your support.
1.) are your sure \components\com_easyblog\themes\nomad\blog.item.php is the right file. I changed something but nothing changed...?!
3.) There is no read more button on the frontpage. Last time Mark (from your support team) builted it in, but with the update it dissapeared again. I have no clou how to make the read more (German luangage=weiterlesen) visible on the frontpage.
Can you help?
All my credentials where in the last request. Do you need the again? Just let me know
Regards from Germany

Hi
I have the same issues. I am trying to display 2 modules with one category on each & only one post of the category in each. All categories and posts are set to 'Public' ( I want them to be available to everyone even if they are not logged in)
1. I have set the truncate (one paragraph), but the posts seemed truncated by letters (to some random number)
2. Clicking on readmore forces the visitor to login. If I login and then click on readmore, it goes to 404.
3. The teaser image has disappeared.
If you make a change, please let me know how you did it. I don't want to loose it with update.
Thanks -

When you configured EasyBlog to truncate by paragraph in the settings, this actually only applies on the front page of the blog listing. I am not too sure if I am getting you correctly if you are referring to the front page listings or the module listings?
2. Clicking on readmore forces the visitor to login. If I login and then click on readmore, it goes to 404.
I believe you have actually resolved this as stated in http://stackideas.com/support/discussions/errors-when-using-mod_easybloglatestpostbycategory.html . Can I know if you are still having issues with this?If you need help, do visit our documentations below,

I have the same issue - Read More button doesn't show after truncation is set to 2 paragraphs. Ellipsis shows by itself but there is no link.
If I insert a Read More in the actual body of the post while truncation is enabled, the ellipsis disappears. If I disable truncation and add a Read More link the ellipsis also disappears. -
Hello,
I tried viewing your site and EasyBlog's front page actually has a continue reading link as shown in http://screencast.com/t/cp99xRpwflx . However, I think you are referring to the "Categories" area. I have added a read more link for you there and it should show up correctly now
