Komento Beta 1.7 Reports
Resolved

So far what I have found with the Komento Beta:

Posting a comment on an Easyblog post is extremely slow. After pressing Submit Comment button, the loading animation appears over the button and continues for quite some time. In fact, the notification that there is a new comment on the page appears before the comment actually shows up.

Clicking the green Reload Comments text on the notification does not work. The existing comments are replaced by the loading animation and the text "Loading comments" forever.

Clicking the Oldest/Newest filters does nothing. I have them turned them off but reporting it anyway.

There is no option to delete a comment. Wasn't in the dropdown menu alongside Edit before? I actually can't remember to be honest, but there should be an option to delete comments from the front end and there is ACL to allow deletion of own comment or all comments in the backend.

How to upload an attachment to a comment? There is mention of this in the backend in several places but no way to actually do it.

    Hello Gavin,

    Thanks for the reports. :)
By the way, we have released Komento 1.7. You might want to install this actual release and do refer back to us if the issue still exist. :)
    Best regards,

I have just installed the release version and have exactly the same issues as mentioned above.

Could it be a js conflict between komento and easysocial? I have the ES toolbar module activated. Possible to check my site please?

Thanks Arlex, delete own comments is working now but there is still no admin dropdown menu on other users comments even though I have the ACL for Super User set to allow Delete All Comments and Edit All Comments.

Can you also tell me where the attachment feature is? I have it turned on in ACL with Upload attachment switched to yes but there is no option to upload attachments on the comment form.

    Hi,

The ACL in Komento works where "No" takes priority.

If your user have 2 usergroup assigned, and if either 1 usergroup's rule is set to "No", then the "No" will override. For example, if Delete All Comments is set to No in Registered group and it is set to Yes in Super User group, then the user will not have the permission to delete all comments.

As for attachment feature, it is only available in the Pro version.

Thanks Jason. My account had Registered User and Super Admin so that is why it wasn't showing up. Removed the Registered User and it's working as I wanted now :)

    Hi,

    You're welcome. :)

Jason, I purchased the pro version of Komento specifically for the upload attachments feature but there are problems with it.

    1. When creating a comment with attachments, they don't always show up immediately. Not sure if it's something with the way the new comment is loaded via ajax, but after a page refresh or two they usually show up.

    2. The delete attachment does not work. Clicking on the X at the top right of the image thumbnail does nothing and checking the console there are several errors of missing images, ajax loader etc.

    3. Thumbnails are not created so if somebody uploads a 1280x1024 image, the thumbnail is the original image scaled right down to a thumbnail. This is really bad for page load times if there are a lot of image attachments.

Site details and example page added. Please take a look.

    Hi,

    1. This is most likely caused by blocking of EasySocial notification system as it takes a long time for Komento to successfully post a comment. We will further optimize these process to speed things up a little.

    2. This will be fixed in 1.7.1

    3. Image attachment will only be added in the future.
