Hey guys,

I would like to get more feedback about moving our feature requests area from the voices area to our forums instead. Our voices system is an internal system but it takes up a lot of time and it is extremely painful maintaining several different systems.

We have now linked our forums with our issue tracker because it makes it easier tracking for bugs and we realize that it would be much easier if all the feature requests were also submitted under the "Feature Requests" section under each product's category.

On top of that, it's much easier to moderate the features since they are now linked to the forums and it would also bring up a lot of suggestions / conversations since our forums is much more interactive.

What do you guys think? Love to hear more from you.
This sounds like a very excellent way to do this. I have found Voices frustrating because it seems that only the StackIdeas people are actually paying attention to what is posted there. I myself of guilty of the same! :-)

Yep, I totally agree with Sean. I visit the forums here daily, just checking the latest threads. Voices just were not very comfortable to add an opinion to or some more ideas about a topic so I prefer forums as well.

I say Forum would be fine since a lot of people don't usually go to Voices.

How would you guys know that customers wants a certain feature when in Forum there's no Vote feature?

Thanks,

Jackson

We will probably re-activate the voting options (since EasyDiscuss has it) on the feature requests categories but we are going to give this a try soon, once Komento 3 and Conversekit is out

I like the idea of feature requests in a forum.
Best case scenario users could work through what they request/want together.

I think the discouragement is the fact that there is no voting on the featured requests at the moment. I recall you mentioning this will be added after two big releases. People don't always speak their mind, hence why some good requests may get ignored.

Hey, Mark.

+1 from me. Moving everything onto one platform makes full sense as far as I am concerned. I am sure you and your guys and gals will enjoy a big efficiency gains from this move. After all time is everything, especially considering how busy your team is.

Cheers

For first time users email support would be better. For renewers forum is OK. I am truly frustrated with the lack of concern for the first time user. Too many teething troubles and documentation is not very comprehensive

Hello Sen,

This post is about moving the feature requests area from https://stackideas.com/voices to the forums To be honest, posting on the forums or the helpdesk is pretty much the same.

As a matter of fact, posting in the forums is much better as it allows you to keep track of all your posts rather than e-mails.

I think it is a great idea as it can be confusing having too many options. Plus, Voices was restricted, I struggled with being able to do things and I don't think we could upload images etc. which were sometimes required to explain something more clearly.

Hey Mark, is there still plans for adding votes to voices? This would be a strong encouragement for folks to use voices. I know the staff is booked, just something to put on the to do list.

Yes, we don't have the time to update our forums just yet, but I guess the fastest way right now is to add a +1 reply to the feature request

Since feature requests doesn't interfere with our support flow, placing a +1 doesn't require our support team to monitor those threads.

+1 for voting and also a feature time-line showing what you are planning to add at what version.

At the moment I keep coming across posts where the support person suggests that the post creator goes and adds the post to Feature requests, but then I find that feature has been asked for already, often multiple times! So it doesn't instil confidence that out voices are being heard!

A road map and a voting system would really help that.

Hey, Mark
please consider some kind of a feedback from your team to Feature Requests!

Even a simple badge UNDER REVIEW, PLANNED, IN WORKS or REFUSED can greatly encourage the participants and signal that their voice is valued.

And a real Road Map will really help us manage our and our users expectations !

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the input on this guys. When we started our own feature requests system, it started to get filled with spams and we end up spending more time cleaning and combating spams rather than collecting feedbacks.

We'll see if we can use the existing labels in EasyDiscuss for the feature requests
