Hi,

Could someone point me in the direction of where to make color changes to the default Themes. When I use the browser inspect I see all the "min" css files which are kinda hard to make changes to when opened in an editor window as the changes do not stick and locating the lines in the browser debug/inspect window is hard in the "min" css files..

Is there a normal css file somewhere that the color changes can be made to? Somehow the default Themes text and icon colors all come out white both in our template and in Protostar so I need tochange them to a darker color in some places, I just need someone to point me to the correct files to make these color changes.

Thanks Bamidele
Hi Bamidele,
If you want to modify any css rules, you have to do so in a update protected custom css file.
May I know which extension you are referring to? Actually each of our extension has a documentation to guide you on how to customize the css of our extensions, for example EasySocial. You would have to create the custom css directory and file beforehand then add the custom css codes inside that file.

Hi Raymond,

I am at this point concerned with EasySocial (though when I get to it possibly Easy Blog as well) as like I said there is a color mis-match happening on our template (and protostar for that matter) which I am trying to figure out why as when we test with protostar template it still has the same problem and does not come out like your demo does (see what we get in the attached file as it is completely whitewashed out in most parts). So my last option I guess is to try and find the lines of code that can change your light-black color text to something that will stand out more such as #0099ff or similar as that was better when we tested using the browser inspect utilities. The same for the icons they seem to be "whitish" in color and thus just pale out on the white background we have on the templates.

Anyway, if you can point me to a clear reference that shows how to edit the text colors that would be helpful.

Thanks
Bamidele

Hey Bamidele,
I would like to take a closer look at your site and its backend so I can investigate this and provide you the precise css codes to change the font colors. However, it seems your site is not accessible. Can you provide us the related details in http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site ? Thanks.

Dear Raymond,

That would be all fine but this site is in development as we are developing it on our own server to be colocated when finished. Thus, you having access I am not sure how we can work that out. The server has internet connectivity but that is via a "home" wireless USB adaptor and used largely for downloading of update packages to the server and Joomla extension downloads also. Until the site goes live (which obviously will also only be when we are done developing it etc.) it will not be in the public domain even though we have secured and parked the domain name of daco-2g.com.

If you have a way to do it let me know and I can see what I can do on my side. Alternatively you may have to tell me what to look for and where to make changes and I will feedback (cut & paste) to you what I may have done.

Peace
Idris

Hi Idris,

Hm, it's quite hard for us to just directly assume which class of css are required to change the color of the text that you mentioned above if we cannot have direct access to inspect the element of your site. Perhaps you can temporarily create a staging site that are not live to public but are accessible to specific people only on the web and upload your current development site there?
