If yes, unfortunately such link structure is not supported for video share, where you need to use specific video link as example: https://vimeo.com/album/4652534/video/177215915

That is what I was afraid of.
Honestly if this was supported it would make my life and maybe the life of some other SIers so much easier.
As of now I am linking videos up with my (which you helped me with) clever but insane “Replacer” method.

You know that I do not complain much and if probably only with respect to video functionality.
But I just do not get this kind of thing.
Does your video Share Function strip out info that is there?
If so why?

In simple lay mans terms this seems to me to be like putting a muzzle on a dog!

Is there a way to allow the SI video share function to let this info through so that I could use the playlists from Vimeo?

So far I have 45 of the above “Replace” links and need to add another 30 before the end of the year!

Any help would be as always gratefully appreciated.

(Maybe something that Arlex would/could have a look at?)

Yes, currently Easysocial only possible to embed 1 vimeo video.

If Vimeo embed functionality allow user to add this, i believe this can be possible in Easysocial but i need to know how do you embed your vimeo album video on your page first.

I am using Page Builder Pro again for this.
I will include the login details for finalbug.tv above in the first post in this thread.
If you need to test anything you need to go to Page Builder Pro and look for pages such as:

Vimeo Test Page Public 00
Vimeo Test Page Public 01
Vimeo Private Page ALL 15
Vimeo Private Page Test 3 from 15

(Pages activated with the normal Joomla Menu manager)

I used the Raw HTML editor to insert code such as this in Page Builder Pro:

I've tried to global search regarding this Vimeo album embed information in Vimeo developer documentation, but it seems like there do not have any information for this, if you know about this perhaps you can share with us.

Basically they should appear that embed section from this album video page https://vimeo.com/album/4652534/ but it only show the share button and inside doesn't have any embed HTML.

Then i tried to view page source for this video album embed (https://vimeo.com/album/4652534/embed), inside doesn't have contain any Opengraph data, so that is no way to retrieve that video album thumbnail for this.

If you compare with normal vimeo video page source, they did show those opengraph data so it would help 3rd party developer easier to retrieve those video information through this data.

so this have to hack into this file in order to work.
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/crawler/hooks/vimeo.php

After you replace the file (by default do not have this file), you have to modify that thumbnail image URL from this file, you can check my attached screenshot below which line of code i mentioned.

So those video which show into the module, it will populate this custom thumbnail image.

Thanks for writing a crawling script that some hows makes the best out of a difficult situation.
FYI I have now tested for both public Vimeo videos and videos that “can only be shown on a site of your choice” videos.
Both scenarios work with your script.

This is my current understanding of the situation.

This script attempts to pull some info from Vimeo.

a) Strictly speaking this does not work on the ES video list page here:
https://www.finalbug.net/groups-learn-post-production-socially-fcpx-and-more/26-fcpx-not-pro/videos
Hence your work around by adding a “Joker” image that screams click me to take me to a place where the videos can be played.

b) From here on in things work as expected.

Please correct me if I am wrong…

Yes, that is correct behaviour, it doesn't allow you to play the video straight away under Easysocial video listing page by default, the reason why it populate that play button is because i used this thumbnail image (https://finalbug.net/media/com_easysocial/videos/375/bcedd9a0130866373b818c6b84d812b2.jpg) which contain that play button, so i think this made you feel confuse.

I think you should consult with them is there a way to retrieve the thumbnail image for the vimeo album page e.g. https://vimeo.com/album/4652534 , similar like how you guys did for the vimeo video single page which included those opengraph meta data (http://take.ms/tZTJ8).

Alright, if they come back to you and mention that currently that is no way to do this, then you have to hardcoded your thumbnail image link from the code file.

So when you view on your video listing page, it will populate that thumbnail image for those video.

Here’s some instructions on how to insert embed codes into the most common website builders:
In order to embed a playlist, you must use its respective embed code (whether fixed size or responsive). You cannot insert album URLs into applications that do not support embed codes (for example: themes, plugins, galleries, etc.) Additionally, oEmbed is not supported for embedded playlists.

Here’s some instructions on how to insert embed codes into the most common website builders:

Wix

In the Wix website editor, click +Add, select More at the bottom of the list, then choose the HTML Code option

Click the Enter code button above the new gray block on your page to bring up the editing modal

Make sure the Code option is selected, then paste in your playlist’s embed code

Click the blue Update button, then publish the changes to your site


Squarespace

Enter editing mode for your Squarespace page, then click the + Add block icon in the top right of the page

Scroll down through the menu until you reach the More heading, the select the </> Code optio

Paste in your playlist’s embed code , then hit the Apply butto

When you’ve finished making all edits to your page, hit Save in the top left corner


Wordpress

Select the HTML editing tab in your Wordpress post
Paste in the playlist embed code
When you're ready, hit Update in the top right corner


Tumblr

Choose Video from the selection of post types
Select Add video from web option
Paste in the playlist embed code
The embedded Vimeo player will load and you’ll have the option to add text to Tumblr post

When you’re ready, hit the Post button

Hey Paul,

You cannot insert album URLs into applications that do not support embed codes (for example: themes, plugins, galleries, etc.

It seems like they already mentioned currently do not have vimeo album embed code for this and this doesn't support oEmbed as well.

So you can use my current custom code to embed this vimeo album URL in the Easysocial video.
