One feature I would love to have with PayPlans and EasySocial is that you could create profile types with restriction to Paid levels but also that you can see a profile but not certain fields of that profile fields i f you dont have a special subscription type to see these EasySocial profile customized types...

For example you would not like the public or certain profile types to see certain profile fields if they are not subscriber of a certain paid Membership

You go to Joomla dashboard https://www.site.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_config for com_easysocial_configuration as you have now with Not set(Inherited), allowed, denied permissions like your ES example -> “Access Dashboard Area” you add a special control field for a new Easy Social “Access profile field” and then you can create certain Joomla (EasySocial) groups that could follow/allow Joomla access level permissions.

That mean you can create certain groups with permission that are only allowed to see certain customized/standard fields on different created EasySocial profiles.

Hope that explains what I mean. And then you can use PayPlans to set up that in conjunction with these profiles.

I think this would be a very good feature for monetising your Joomla/Stackideas site where you can have different profile types that have different access to view certain profile types fields/custom fields and they have to upgrade/change profile type to see this fields belonging to a certain ES/Joomla profile reg type.

Practical it could be that you have access rights tick boxes to the field(s) where you add/remove what could be seen or not by certain ES profile type(s).

Hope you understand what I mean.

So what you think Stackideas team?

Hi guys

I would be nice to have some discussion of how you can set some Joomla/ES groups/users permissions also on certain profile groups and/or ES/Joomla users profile fields (standard and customised) with some check boxes settings.

Some good ACL tutorials for Joomla Role based ACL and that will be a good strong hold for Joomla 4 + EasySocial too https://www.slideshare.net/careytech/role-based-acl-2013

Hi ssnobben

Hope this could be viewed in for the future..

I was asking about this just a couple of days ago using the following example:

Have Plan 1a where someone can for eg watch videos in "Group 1."
Have Plan 1b where someone can for eg watch videos & partake in discussions in "Group 1."
Have Plan 1c where someone can for eg upgrade Plan 1a to 1b.

Have Plan 2a where someone can for eg watch videos in "Group 2."
Have Plan 2b where someone can for eg watch videos & partake in discussions in "Group 2."
Have Plan 2c where someone can for eg upgrade Plan 2a to 2b.

etc

I was told to post a feature request.

There is no feature request as such?

I can post one and link it here?

best

Paul

Maybe you can use part of this code type and model to solve this with a com_user ES plg?

https://github.com/pjdevries/plg_system_classextender

"Rationale

When building websites, many times there is the need for adaptation or extension of core functionality. For instance, when a Joomla! list model does not support filtering on a specific user id. An example:

You are building a website where registered users can manage their own articles, keeping in mind that, since the introduction of custom fields, articles can be almost anything you can imagine.
In the frontend you provide a fancy article manager.
Obviously you don't want users to modify eachother's articles, so you configure the ACL properly.
You also don't want your users to see eachother's articles in the article manager. That presents you with a problem: the Category List menu item type does not allow you to filter on an article's created_by field.
The conventional approach is to create a template override, in which you run the article list query for a second time, but this time filtering on the id of the logged in user.

With this plugin you can prevent that second, redundant query. Joomla! core's ContentModelArticles already has the logic in place to filter on com_content's created_by. So the only thing we have to do, is create an override for the getItems() method of the ContentModelCategory class, to which we add filtering on the id of the logged in user."

etc
