Users subscribing to Joomla Article comments

Just having a little confusion reconfiguring the Komento comments and subscriptions.

- we upgraded about a month ago to 3.05 (to 3.08) today.
- we can not seem to allow users to "subscribe" (follow through email notifications) to comments on a Joomla article (ie. allow them to follow the comments) without actually posting a comment themselves. I thought this was allow at one point, but I noticed that once we upgraded to 3.05+, this is no longer the case? or is there a switch I need to enable?

- Notification Recipients - if the author and "subscribers" are turned on....do I need to client on user groups up "New Comments"? I want the manager to be notified, but I haven't clicked on any other user groups? ie. the subscribers to the specific article will still get notifications on posting of a new comment? correct?

-> Yes, you're correct, even though the user is not in the manager group, as they already subscribe to the article it always got the notification

Perhaps it was an earlier version of Komento, but we thought there was a click-box that allowed users to follow the comments of a particular article without actually having to make a post themselves.....perhaps I'm incorrect on that. One of the Admin. uses Komento on another website, and she thought it allowed users to follow post without actually having to post.

On the current version of Komento, a user hast to make a post in order to follow subsequent posts?

-> Yes, according to code in our current version, in order user to follow the subsequent post they have to make comment and tick 'Also subscribe me to this thread'
