"There are some updates performed on the launcher to fix builds prior to 4.0.12, you will need to download the latest 4.0.12 launcher from https://stackideas.com/dashboard"

Hi guys,

In going to do an upgrade, we are getting this message. I noticed that the latest is 4.0.13. Do I have to upload to 4.0.12 first? If so, where do I get it?
Hey Lynn,
Yes it is safe to install the latest version over your existing version. However, if you have customize any EasyDiscuss files, you should perform backups just in case.
Also, does it matter if it is the advanced version or the easy version?
Are you referring to the launcher vs full installer?
If yes, the difference is the launcher downloads the component files during installation while the full installer contains the component files in the package. You may use either of those installers to install.
Also, the launcher installer only works on your licensed domain whereas full installer can be used on non-licensed domains as well.

Hi Lynn,
You can download the launcher from your dashboard page.
Then, proceed to install EasyDiscuss as per our documentation.
Do remember to perform backups on the site as a precaution as well.
Hope this helps.

Raymond, you didn't answer my question.

The only version that appears on my account page initiates a download of 4.0.13. Can I safely install that over the existing version? Also, does it matter if it is the advanced version or the easy version?

Thanks, that seemed to work.

There are still products out there that require incremental updates, ie .01, .02, etc, one installed before the next. With those, if you install a 'future' version, you might miss some critical patch. That's why my question was specific.

Ah I see what you mean here. Actually the latest version contains all the patches between your current version and the latest version. So you do not have to worry about missing any fixes in between.

Anyway, you are most welcome. Glad to hear that your issue has been resolved now.
I will lock and mark this thread as resolved.
