Can you specify what exactly you want to change in the dashboard view? The forum post link you provided is based on an older version of EasySocial, which is why the settings are not there anymore.
For settings, some can be configured in Settings>Users>Layout.
Other than that, generally the dashboard view can be modified by template overriding this file: JoomlaFolder/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/dashboard/default/default.php

Thanks for the helpful response. Settings>Users>Layout helped me make some changes that I required.

I am looking to perform the following customisation to the sidebar:

1. Load a selected list of items that a user can access through 'discover' subsection under the toolbar profile menu (groups, events, pages, etc.)

2. Against each of the items in the list I would like to display a custom icon


Could you also point me in the direction of Easysocial documentation that covers the topic of template overriding files?
