Translated strings not visible+transifex request not answered

Quite some time ago I requested a project for Esperanto at Transifex (https://www.transifex.com/stack-ideas/eb5/). As I got no response, a few days later I read the small print in the StackIdeas documentation. There I read that translation should be done in the ini files on the server. So I started doing that.

I have been working on that translation in a slow and steady state, seeing more and more on my homepage turning into Esperanto. But a few days back, a lot of strings reverted back to English. The strings in English in the homepage does not exist in the Esperanto language file, though. So where does EasyBlog take it's info?

Trying to get some info in the support forum, I discovered several threads about translations in Transifex. So I logged in there to check if my request had been accepted, but no.

Can you please accept the request for Esperanto at Transifex? How may the work I have already done be transferred to Transifex? I'm at line 2070 in the site file and I'm not looking forward to doing it all again...

Sorry for the delay of this response.
There are many non customer requested to be our translators. Currently, we only accept translator from existing customer for quality purposes. Unless you message us at Stackideas.com, we don't usually approve translator in Transifex. Sorry for the inconveniences caused.

I have created an Esperanto language team for you. I have also added you in the team. Can you access it now?

Thank you for the acceptance at Transifex.

Do you have any idea why the translation I have already made directly on the server just stopped working? Why, all of a sudden, does EasyBlog don't read the translated file in my Esperanto language folder?

All settings is for the use of Esperanto (it's a single language site) and up until a couple of weeks ago, I could se string after string changing from English to Esperanto at my site, while translating. Then suddenly they reverted back to English. Searching for strings like "Rate this blog entry" from the front end, returns "0" when I search for the string in the Esperanto version. Could it be such an easy problem as a missed quote that upends everything?

As non-user you will see the main menu with Informejo (EasyBlog), Eventoj (iCagenda) and Diskutejo (Kunena). We use uddeIM too, but I only provide a screen shot with evidence that these other extensions do work with Esperanto.

In the screen shot Intere.se-EasyBlog-translation-Rate_blog_entry I copied part of the .ini file where the phraze Rate this blog entry appears.

I don't want to send the credentials to this live site in an open thread, so I'll find another way to send it to you.

Hey Amema,

There might be a few reasons for the issue:

1) From what I understand, your translated language files are at your server instead on the transifex. Any changes applies to your server and should you decide to upgrade your EasyBlog, the changes will get overridden. You will need to upload your progress to Transifex.

In case you've done so (I think you have). Have you installed the language from EasyBlog's backend language manager?

2) Yesterday, I check the progress for the Esperanto on Transifex and find it that it was 0%. Today it has gone up to 45%. I've tried to find the language on my end but it didn't show up. It is possible that the issue is from Transifex's side. Perhaps they haven't updated yet.

1) Yes, they were, due to what I understood from your documentation about translations. I have now installed and started to translate in Transifex.

2) It's now 58%. I have added my key to have lang pack upgrades through joomla backend, but the translation level for Esperanto is only 12% at the moment. Could you please 'pull' or whatever you do to upgrade the files?

In actuality there only remains a few Frontend strings to translate. The rest is Backend strings, and I'll wait with those until more urgent things are resolved.

Hey Amema,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. These are actually automated and we don't really need to do anything to clear the cache. If you try to click on the "Install / Update" button now, it should give you the latest language file

No sweat, Mark. It's weekend here too .

I went to the EasyBlog Language settings and purged the cache, searched for new updates, but can't find Esperanto in the list yet.

No, no, no... Esperanto is Esperanto. Created in 1887 already, to serve as an easy means of communication between all peoples of the world. It's neutral regarding politics, religion and other popular things to fight about. And it's supporting the right to everyone's own language, trying to remind bystanders that the use of, for example English, as lingua franca gives English native speakers an unfair advantage over the rest of us.

The lang code for Esperanto is eo-XX.

I did as you wrote the 21st of February. Even though I purged cashes of both joomla site and my own browser, nothing happened. All translated strings are still in English.

I let things sit for a while, if there were some delays in the systems, and tried again today. Same routine of purging caches and searching for new installation. Nothing continues to happen...

The lang code for Esperanto in the list is "eo", but the correct one is "eo-XX". Could that be a problem for the system to find the files?

Based on your issue, I suspect one of the language string is not valid then causing your site still showing English language even you changed your default language to Esperanto from backend language manager.

It would be best if you can provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so I can quickly help you take a look of this language issue.
