Dear technical team,

We are JRMAX, an EasyDiscuss user, in Korea.
We have been finding the setting way that writers can edit or delete their own questions or replies, and can write private posts.

We received some answers from Sylvie like below, but we have not yet found those.

Would you help us?

Regards,
Adrien Park

Hi Adrien,

Seeing that this a technical issue, could you submit a ticket at https://stackideas.com/forums so our support team could help you with that matter?

Our Kayako helpdesk (the one that you are using right now) is mostly used for pre/post sales related inquiries and our team members (programmers and technical support guys) doesn't utilize this. They are actually monitoring our forums, therefore you should post your questions on the forums. Thank you for understanding

Sincerely,
Sylvie

Dear Sylvie,

Once we tried to set up the ACL settings as shown http://take.ms/saZtg, but we could not delete a testing user's own question and own reply.
And also once we tried to set up private posts as shown http://take.ms/1WYbW, but we could not see the message, "Make this post private. Only moderators would be..." as shown http://take.ms/etzpB.

Where should we check more?
Is it possibly related to LDAP server linking issue? we did not connect to LDAP Server.

Regards,
Adrien Park.

Hi Adrien,

>>>We have still not found how to enable writers or repliers on discuss forum themselves to edit or delete their post
Have you tried looking through your ACL settings as shown here http://take.ms/saZtg ?

>>>and to open or not to open their post to others
To enable private post, you should http://take.ms/1WYbW and then you'll see this http://take.ms/etzpB

Hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Sylvie

Hi there,

As prompted by our Sylvie, yes it should be the correct way to achieve those you required above but maybe she have missed out some of the steps and procedure to fully enable user to achieve what you required above.

I would suggest you to check on your 'Categories' as you can see at Backend>Components>EasyDiscuss>Categories>Your Types of category and head to 'Permissions' tabs as shown https://screencast.com/t/BpZnZfDkTSGD. Then, make sure you give permission for your designated group, as shown https://screencast.com/t/JFbsxbg64. Please give it try and see how it goes.

If problems still persist, maybe you can provide us with your backend and FTP access for further check on this issues.

Please advice.
