Hello Support

I have been experiencing some difficulty with your Tag Cloud Module. Actually what happened is as follows. I installed a new template and had problems getting several modules to turn up in a left module position on all pages. Amongst the module that did not turn up on all pages was the Stackideas module. The Joomlashine support people were frankly not very helpful and told me to do the following:

********

=> I confirm that the mod_easyblogtagcloud_3.9.1_free.zip is corrupt and the JSN template does not cause any error . Please re-contact Stackideas who has developed mod_easyblogtagcloud_3.9.1_free.zip file .
And about the “BUG SPONSORS” is the custom HTML module , this is a blank module which belongs to Standard Joomla so BUG Sponsors might not be corrupt . I confirm that you have already installed any module that conflicts to the “BUG SPONSORS” module and I am investigating the reason why.

********

Which I did. And surprise surprise it did not fix anything. Now when I try to reinstall the Tag Cloud Module it does not show up in my Joomla back end!

Could you please take a look at this. What they are saying does not make any sense to me. As this worked before. What I find a little strange however is that I can as of now not reinstall the Cloud module!

thanks

Paul
Hello paul,

Sorry for the late reply. I can't login your site backend as i get this error

>> Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

but the Tag Module can most likely be found when you add a new module. What you need to do is got to backend -> Extensions -> Module Manager and click on New. here you will be able to add a Tag Cloud Module. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Hi nick

thanks for that

I still have one more question! Joomlashine are saying this:

*****************************

I confirm that the mod_easyblogtagcloud_3.9.1_free.zip is corrupt and the JSN template does not cause any error . Please re-contact Stackideas who has developed mod_easyblogtagcloud_3.9.1_free.zip file .

*****************************

Can you please tell me from your perspective if this module could be causing any problems with the template

In other words is there anything that is corrupt at your end?

thanks

Hello Paul,

The tag cloud module seems fine on your site. Can you specify the error? Maybe something that I missed. Please advise.

Hi Nick

This is what Joomlashine said:

*****************************

I confirm that the mod_easyblogtagcloud_3.9.1_free.zip is corrupt and the JSN template does not cause any error . Please re-contact Stackideas who has developed mod_easyblogtagcloud_3.9.1_free.zip file .

*****************************

This is what happened.

1) Modules were not showing up on all pages (left module position) despite being selected to show on all pages.
2) I wrote to Joomlashine and asked them to investigate
3) They asked me to send the installer packages for all of the modules that I had installed in the left module position.
4) I sent them the installer packages for Stackideas Tag Cloud & Category list
5) They told me that the Tag Cloud package was corrupt and that I should contact Stackideas.

So technically they do not have an error message but are saying that a file that I downloaded from Stackideas, sent to Joomlashine which they in turn downloaded is corrupt.

My suggestion unless there is something obviously wrong at your end?

Hold off on this one. I think that support at Joomlashine are lost on this one. I will let you know what they say next. Thanks for the fix so far.

best

Paul

Hello Paul,

I really don't understand what do they mean by "corrupt" but I have already sent a message to the manager from Joomlashine to show my dissatisfaction on how their customer support is dealing with issues by pointing fingers around.

Anyway, mind letting me know what the issues are?

Hi Mark

With respect to finger pointing. They, were talking about the install file from : mod_easyblogtagcloud_3.9.1_free.zip

At one point, I did point out that, I had downloaded it from your server in Malaysia, too my computer in Germany and then sent it to them in Thailand. Like it is kind of mind boggling if you think about it. It is hardly surprising that something went wrong and the file probably did get corrupt but it was not your fault. For me corrupt means that some part of the file got lost along the way and thus the file does not behave as expected!

With respect to the problem... It was probably a combination of my ignorance and their ignorance. The problem was tied up with an extended module manager that I am using. There solution was to set things up as in the screen shot. Which actually works even if I do not understand it! So this whole thread here is a false lead so to speak.

I love this whole Open Source/Paid Support thing but in my eyes it only works if people are prepared to go the extra mile and not try and push the problem off the the next man. End of rant.

best

Hello Paul,

Thanks for the heads up on this and glad that your issues are all sorted out now By the way, our servers are hosted in Chicago, United States at Rackspace and not in Malaysia
