Sorting behavior with frontpage layout and category filter set to 1 category

Hi,
I have a menu item with frontpage layout and the category filter set to 1 category. If I use the sort (latest/popular/title), it pulls in posts from all the categories rather than sorting the selected category. Is this the expected behavior? Is there any way to sort just the selected category?

Hi Debaleena,
I think that the sorting is supposed to respect the category filter that is set under the menu item. With that, the behavior needs to change. I will log this issue in our tracker so the devs can look into it.
For now perhaps you can utilize the sorting from the menu item instead of the one in the frontend, that is if you just want to filter by certain category/s only.
