Hi there,
I have a couple of minor issues with Easy Blog and a more fundamental question of getting it to work with Easy Social.

Firstly, if I add links to a blog the open new window tick box option never saves (so it always opens in the existing window), and only the first link in the blog works. 2 subsequent links are coloured like links but don't provide the hyperlink opportunity. You can see this in this post : http://sportingcircles.com/index.php/news/sporting-circles-rises-1

Secondly, I can't fathom how to enable EasyBlog within EasySocial to let my community members write up blog posts. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks indeed!

Rupert
Hi Rupert Englander,

Sorry for late reply to this, please find your answer in your queries below.

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this?

Secondly, I can't fathom how to enable EasyBlog within EasySocial to let my community members write up blog posts. Can someone point me in the right direction?

You have to download the blog app from http://stackideas.com/apps/item/5-blog , then install from your backend > Easysocial > application > install > browse the blog installer > click install (After installed, and make sure this blog app is enabled)

So the blog app will appear on your Easysocial dashboard and user profile, check my screenshot below.
When you click on the "new blog" button, it will redirect to Easyblog creation page.
After you published the blog post, it will generate a blog stream display on your user profile.
Hope this help.

Arlex,

Thanks so much for the considered reply. Most appreciated!

I will send you back end details later today but in the meantime can i just check. I downloaded the Blog element that you linked to but it downloads a directory of files rather that a single installer file. Is this correct? If so which file should I select to install the Blog for EasySocial?

Thanks again!
Rupert

It downloaded for me as plg_app_user_blog.zip. Be sure not to extract it. You should be able to install this within ES backend under the Apps section.

OK thanks. I think my mac is auto extracting it (thanks Apple!).

I'll try again when I get to a PC later. Thanks again!

If that's the case you could re-zip it with that file name as your hotfix. I haven't used a Mac in forever; is there something to the effect of alt-clicking and manually saving to your choice of directory?
