Hi Si Team

I really do not understand how enter the words "Final Cut Pro" into the Search boy in the tool bar yield.

"no records found"

The word "Final Cut Pro" must occur 1,000s of times on the site!!!

Please advise

Paul
Hey Paul,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Based on what I observation from other thread resources, this only happen when Joomla 2.5 upgrade to Joomla 3.x what their reported.

Regarding with your search issue :
>> It seems like you created that `EasySocial » Advanced Search` menu item causing this, because you using `search` alias for this advanced search menu item, so it conflict when you trying to normal search, you can take a look of this URL -> http://finalbug.net/network/search?q=test <- it point to `search` alias so Joomla assume this should be link to advanced search page.

I have temporary disabled that search menu item, it should work fine now. To fix this, you have to use another alias name for your `EasySocial » Advanced Search` menu item.

Elegant:This is an elegant theme for EasySocial demonstrating different ways to render the toolbar on the site. Works well with the rest of our products.

http://finalbug.net/administrator/index.php?option=com_easysocial&view=themes&layout=form&element=elegant

EasySocial Toolbar: This module displays the nice notification toolbar for EasySocial on the site.

http://finalbug.net/administrator/index.php?option=com_advancedmodules&view=module&layout=edit&id=219

If we could nail this. It would be great.

By the way, I'm not quite understand what you referring Easysocial toolbar question. Can you create another new thread for this question and elaborate more detail regarding this?

I've checked in your site, it seems like you uninstalled Joomla smart search component, so it will show out any search result when you search "Final Cut Pro", it would be best if you can get back this Joomla smart search component in your site and run re-index again, it should fix this issue.

Hi Arlex

Thanks for pointing this out to me.
I have found this online:
https://docs.joomla.org/Smart_Search_quickstart_guide

But no reference to where to find the plugin!
A search of Joomla.org throws up dozens of "Smart Search" results:

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension?searchall=Smart+Search&filter%5Btags%5D%5B%5D=&filter%5Bcore_catid%5D=&filter%5Bincludes%5D=plugin&filter%5Bversions%5D=&filter%5Btype%5D=free&filter%5Bhasdemo%5D=&order=&filter%5Bnewupdated%5D=&filter%5Bscore%5D=&filter%5Bfavourites%5D=&dir=DESC&limitstart=0&controller=filter&view=extension&layout=list&Itemid=145&clearorders=0&clearfilters=1

Could you kindly point me in the right direction.
What is the exact "Smart Search" plugin I need to get this to work?

thanks

Paul

Hey Paul,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

I've tried global search around in Google how to restore back the Joomla smart search component. After few hour ago, I found out this thread http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=696488
Then I follow the instruction, it work fine now, I can install back the Joomla smart search component in your site.

Can you give it a try search this keyword again "Final Cut Pro", it should show the search result now.

By the way, please understand it is beyond our support scope's policy as outlined in http://stackideas.com/support

Hi Arlex

I guess I was a little frustrated when I switched this plugin on and it did not work.
Sorry if that came across.
It has been a very difficult week.

I also researched in the SI documentation, Forum and Google.
I am pretty sure that I did not uninstall this plugin.
And I did find references to a bug and it not being installed.

I think what with upgrading to Joomla 3.x. EB 5.x & ES 1.4.x a lot of stuff got moved around.
And some links in the chain broke.
frankly I believe that finalBUG has never looked so good and this is largely thanks to support from you guys.

I have tested it and whilst it does show search results when I click "View all results" it takes me to advanced search.
I am getting the same result for both tool bars:

Elegant:This is an elegant theme for EasySocial demonstrating different ways to render the toolbar on the site. Works well with the rest of our products.

http://finalbug.net/administrator/index.php?option=com_easysocial&view=themes&layout=form&element=elegant

EasySocial Toolbar: This module displays the nice notification toolbar for EasySocial on the site.

http://finalbug.net/administrator/index.php?option=com_advancedmodules&view=module&layout=edit&id=219

If we could nail this. It would be great.

Hi Arlex

This was the case for me. I updated from Joomla 2.5.x in September.

Pretty much most of the things seem to be working.

I will investigate further and post a separate post if I see stuff that does not work that I can not figure out.

thank you for your time
