Hi, I have installed the Romanian language pack which has a Progress of 70%.
I have contacted the author to see if they can work on it more but i wanted to ask, how is the % calculated.

Also, how do i add more language constants as many sections are in ruins especially the Edit Profile section. See example attached example, everything is in Romanian apart from that last bit that says 'Your password is case sensitive'.

I can see the language override and i was able to look for constants but it only brings up the ones that have been translated already. Is there a way of bring up a list of the rest?

Thanks for your reply.
Hi Ben,

Thanks for updating me on this. I believe the front-end translations are mostly done except those being highlighted here http://take.ms/4HrAe

Can I also ask quickly, I have added the agree with Terms & Conditions when they first register but i see it has also appeared in my Edit Profile page which i do not want. How can i get rid of that? thanks.
I can start a new thread on this if you like.

Yes, please create a new ticket for this.

Hello Ben,

I have contacted the author to see if they can work on it more but i wanted to ask, how is the % calculated.

It is based on the translated things on Transifex as shown here http://take.ms/znERu . Currently there isn't any translators working on Romanian translations at the moment, if you're interested to translate, we would be happy to have you on board. You may register at Transifex at https://www.transifex.com/stack-ideas and once you're registered, just provide me with your username so we can add you in the translation group.

The easiest way is by opening the file at /languages/xx-XX/xx-XX.easysocial.ini and /administrator/langauges/xx-XX/xx-XX.easysocial.ini where xx-XX is the language codes

hey Sylvie,

Thank you for your reply.

Ok i have signed up and my username is benbaliban. Please add me and let me know of anything else i need to know before i start translating.

Regarding translating the language .ini file, does an update not override this file?

Thanks

Hello Ben,

Thanks for getting back to me on this. I have added you into our Romanian translations group. Yes, it will not override the translations during an update, unless you have downloaded / updated the language from the backend component language section. However it's best to override at Joomla Language Overrides section. You may refer to our docs at https://stackideas.com/docs/easysocial/administrators/languages/creating-language-overrides

Hy Sylvie, thank you for that. I have gone in and done a bit of translating but there is a tonne left .
Is there a place i can advertise to get a Romanian translator? (and pay them something) The guy that did most of the translating has not gotten back to me even though i contacted him twice.

Would this mean they will have to transifex as well just like i did?
Thanks

Hello Ben,

Thanks for getting back to me on this. Which translator are you referring to? Also, i have also recently approve another Romanian translator, in hope you could work together in this project. Just for your information, we are in the midst of transitioning out from Transifex, therefore Transifex will just be a temporary platform for our translations at the moment. Moving forward, we will be using a new translating platform as we are still working on it.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for getting back to me on this. I believe the translator "fakemoth" is not a part of our translating team. Yes, we will build our very own translating system as soon as our two very important projects are completed.

How can i get in contact with the new translator? Do you know if he/she is working on translating? (i need some help that's all)
When doing the translating, does it automatically reflect on my site or do i have to do an update?

Thanks

Hello Ben,

Our translating program is actually on a volunteering basis, therefore we couldn't enforce people to translate for us. I have promoted you as a reviewer, so your changes will be applied as soon as those strings were approved.

I have an issue now where the correct Language name is not showing in my Edit Profile page but in the system backened it shows clearly. Please see attached images.

Also, can you please tell me, there was an update on the Romanian language, has someone worked on it and finished it?

Hi Ben,

Thanks for getting back to us on this. We have fixed the issue on your site and it the language should reflect correctly now, could you have a look at it please? Currently, they are only 2 translators (that includes yourself) working on translations, therefore the progress seems a bit slow.

Hi Ben,

Yes, it is possible by uninstalling it from Joomla language at 'Manage' extension section as shown http://take.ms/h54is

Thanks for that Sylvie.
Can you please also tell me which is the primary EN language that is always updated for easysocial, is it the US or the GB version?

Also I got an error. When i change the language to Romanian in my Edit Profile page it's all good, but when i change it back i get this page (see attached). If i then go to the home page it does show like it changed everything back to english.
thanks

Hey Ben,

The default language that is shipped in Joomla and EasySocial is the en-GB variant. As for the error that you are facing with the edit profile, would it be possible for you to start a new thread on our board please?
