Yeah, there seems to be a bug in Joomla 2.5 + komento as we have missed a file in that release. You can fix this by downloading the attached file and upload it into /administrator/components/com_komento/views/integrations/tmpl/ . You'll see a new option to turn this off.

As for the "email is required", I can't seem to reproduce this. Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?
