Problem with setting discounts

Hello,

I am trying to create a 'First 1,000 users free' discount and I'm getting an error at payment saying 'Insufficient amount' after using the coupon code and completing the registration. I assumed it was because the amount was 100% discount and it was trying to ask for payment and it hit an error, so I ditched that idea.

I next tried to create 3 x 'First 1,000 users free' per base plan plans, and restrict the number of users registered to 2, so I can test what happens to the plan at the front end when the targets are met. Yet again, I'm having problems as I have been able to create 4!!

I'm in a real mess with this and cannot seem to get it set up correctly.

My aim is to have a discount code for free initial creation of their account, for lifetime free membership, for each of the 3 base user plans.
Could you take a look at my DEV.Masquerading.Global site and see where I'm going wrong.

You created this code for a forever free (First 1,000 Masquerading Members Free) plan, and the discount can not be applied to the 0 amount.
Can you update the plan price and see how it goes.

What do you mean by giving them a discount, do you mean you want to give them a 100% discount and they will never change till their lifetime.

*Is there a way to alert the users that if they are using a FREE discount code, we still require their payment details but don't charge. PayPlans doesn't bypass the creditcard details.

Yes, we want to make a few different 'free' incentives, depending on different platforms we advertise on, as well as tracking where they've seen us advertise (so have platform-specific discount codes). One idea is to offer lifetime/forever free plans.

Sounds good.

Yes, we want to make a few different 'free' incentives, depending on different platforms we advertise on, as well as tracking where they've seen us advertise (so have platform-specific discount codes). One idea is to offer lifetime/forever free plans.
As you are using Recurring + Trial (Trial is free) for base plans then this will not work for you, in case of recurring payment you can not give a discount of 100% for a lifetime.

In your case, if you set the trial price to some valid price then you can apply a 100% discount on the initial price.
Of you need to create a Forever/Lifetime plan (with price) where you can give a 100% discount to the user.

While we have a free plan on the Live site, it's ok, but as of 1st November, I'll be trying it out on the Live site, so will update you in just over a weeks time.
