We want to to start moderating our blog posts
We will have two groups, Author and Editor
Authors - They will be able to create blog posts but not publish
Editors - They can create and publish their own posts. We also want them to be the moderators for Authors Posts
I can see how to to set up the ACL rules for each group
We have 4 Categories of posts, let's call then Cat A, Cat B, Cat C and Cat D.
We have about 12 Authors and 4 Editors
What I can't find is how when a post is created by and Editor, how to Notify the Editors.
What I would really like is that each Editor has responsibility for one Category
So

  • Editor A has responsibility for Cat A
  • Editor B has responsibility for Cat B
Editor C has responsibility for Cat C
Editor D has responsibility for Cat D

This might not be possible, but How can I ensure that Editors are notified when a Post is awaiting moderation??
I have done some more checking. The cron job will notify about blog post requiring moderation. The Author gets notified and so do Super Users but the Editors do not, yet the Editors can see blog posts requiring moderation and they can approve/Reject.
What I can't see is how to notify Editors using a cron job.
Also I don't think you cannot moderate by separate categories , Is this correct?

Hi David,

Unfortunately, only super users will be notified for post moderation. However, if you do not have a lot of 'Editor' users, you can manually enter their emails here. By doing so, they will receive emails intended for super users in EasyBlog.

Moderating separate categories is not possible in EasyBlog.

Ok, That's great. I tested it with 2 email addresses and that worked fine.

Note for other Easyblog users. The first email address you put in will be the 'Send from' email address. So if you have 2 moderators ie john@acme.com, bill@acme.com. John will get the email from himself and Bill will get the email from John... hope this makes sense??
THIS IS NOT CORRECT- See Raymond's Response below. You can Change the Sender email to something different.

Hey David,
The first email address you put in will be the 'Send from' email address.
I could not reproduce this: http://take.ms/5H7b5

By right it should follow the sender email address setting.

Hi Raymond,
You are EXACTLY RIGHT!!!.
If I put an email address in the Sender section that email is used as Sender.
Thanks for pointing this out
I have attached screenshot of settings and resulting email

Thanks again
