1. sell a membership based on profiletype

Yes, it is possible to achieve this, for example :

If your site create 3 different plans e.g. Free, premium, gold.

So you can configure if user subscribe to premium plan, it will assign to the special profile type.

2. sell events, undependently of the profiletype

Currently we do not have any functionality to sell event or pages.

Or are you referring specific event/pages user access?

Imagine I have 2 events
- Event A - Only accessible by Premium/Gold subscriber
- Event B - Only accessible by Gold subscriber

Yes, as long as you can control it through the Easysocial user profile type setting (screenshot : https://monosnap.com/file/8CXJFvVGhTdFuhwhrX5kvjVda1wR74 ) , it should be possible to achieve this.

For example :
Imagine you have created :
- 2 plan for premium and gold
- 2 profile type for Easysocial user

Premium Plan (assigned to Premium profile type)
Gold Plan (assigned to Gold profile type)

So you can set this Premium profile type do not allow to create event, so when the user subscribe to premium plan, they unable to create event on the site.

If yes, this app still available in Payplans extension.
